Pop quiz: name the governments in the Middle East propped up by US funds/NATO arms that turned out decently.
Oh, wait… there aren’t any. Instead that money and weapons goes to governments that attempt to remove women’s rights from the equation have no concept of free speech and continue to oppress people with different names in charge. Or, they go to rebel groups that evolve into dangerous terrorist organizations using our weapons against us, like the Taliban.
So why is it that the billion we’re giving Egypt is somehow magically going to break that trend?
